All facts: The Idea

Michael Reichhold An Interview with

Michael Reichhold
Director Paperworld
What is so special about the leading international trade fair Paperworld?
Michael Reichhold: Over four days Paperworld 2009 will combine the very latest products from all segments of the industry, bring together both market leaders and innovative small companies, provide inspiration, show trends, and give a great opportunity to compare notes with colleagues from all over the world.

Will there be changes to the concept of Paperworld for 2009?
Michael Reichhold: In surveys during Paperworld 2007 and 2008 more than two-thirds of firms exhibiting said they were in favour of a four-day sequence. A survey of traders over this period came to the same result.

From 2009 we shall be drawing the obvious conclusions from the clear results of these surveys and will be shortening Paperworld by one day, holding it from Saturday to Tuesday. In this way international traders will be able to use the connected sequence of days during the week to travel to Frankfurt.

Will you be maintaining your focus on the specialist retail trade in 2009?
Michael Reichhold: The specialist German retailer will continue to benefit from our focus on the specialist trade, which we shall be strengthening in 2009 by including the Saturday. In this way we shall be offering a programme on two days which is specially tailored for the national retail trade. From 9.00 a.m. we shall be welcoming traders from all over Germany with coffee and live music - the perfect way to create the right mood for an action-packed day at the fair.

Our attractive travel packages will make the journey to Frankfurt easier: from more than 20 German towns and cities, from Hamburg to Munich, we are offering traders a comfortable and low-priced trip to Frankfurt. Attractive hotel offers will complete the no-worry all-inclusive package for traders.

Will there also be a special trend show for traders this year?
Michael Reichhold: Of course. The Trend Show is a highlight every year. At Paperworld 2009 bora.herke, the well-known design practice, will be in charge for the first time of both design and realisation of the Trend Show. Claudia Herke and Cem Bora have been working for more than ten years for various Messe Frankfurt events and are true experts when it comes to trends.

So visitors to Paperworld can look forward to an outstanding presentation of trends, which will not only tell them what shapes, colours and materials will be popular in the coming season, but will also give concrete tips and suggestions on how to present the goods in your own shop.
